You can spend days on end exploring the best of London’s sights and sounds and still get nowhere near seeing everything the city has to offer. Take a look at our guide to help you get the very best out of your time in the English capital.

Perfect for exploring

Although it’s quite a big city, London is still great for exploring on foot. The London Underground, known as the tube, will whisk you to different areas in no time if you’ve got some ground to cover though. Head to Westminster for some of the most iconic landmarks anywhere in the world, such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, or Camden for the quirky markets and alternative vibes. Write your own love story in Notting Hill as you browse the stylish independent shops, before peeking at the expensive car dealerships in Mayfair on the way to Hyde Park.

Famous landmarks

No trip to London would be complete without a visit to Buckingham Palace. Walk along The Mall towards the Victoria Memorial and spend some time at the palace gates as you get some great photos, then continue to other famous landmarks like Trafalgar Square. Stroll by the Thames and cross over to the Southbank to take a ride on the London Eye for stunning views across the city.

Top class culture

If you love cultural draws then London is the perfect place for you. From iconic museums and galleries like the British Museum and the Tate Modern to the West End with its fabulous theatre shows and musicals. As well as great nightlife and some incredible restaurants, London’s also full of hidden surprises like pop up rooftop eateries, while you might be just round the corner from a buzzing buskers festival.
